Chinese Presence
More Chinese miners, too, moved into the camp after the gold rush fever waned. An intolerant attitude toward the Chinese miners also has left us with little historical information. In some cases, the Chinese did appear to win acceptance. According to Pardee, Gee Lee came to Beartown early on and his wash house became a town cornerstone. She recorded another story from the later era of "One-eyed Tom," known for his herbal healing skills.
